Who we are: A group of Deerfield residents striving to make a positive environmental impact in our community.
Our vision: To weave an environmentally friendly lifestyle into our daily lives, our local government, schools, and our local businesses and other organizations.
Our mission: To educate, inspire, and motivate our community to notice and take action on environmental issues that affect us now and in the future, and to collaborate with all sectors of our community in this mission.
Our community goals:
- For Deerfield to be a leader and catalyst for environmental change in the Chicagoland area with other local municipalities.
- For Deerfield to have a central, inclusive, citizen-led group investigating and implementing environmentally-sound practices.
- For Deerfield residents to learn about and embrace the benefits of an environmentally friendly lifestyle.

Our community initiatives:
- Pass resolutions designed to uphold recommendations stated in the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Report, including to establish a community goal to at least meet October 2018 IPCC emission guidelines: Reduce CO2 emissions 45% by 2030.
- Join the Sierra Club’s Ready for 100 campaign: National support in helping local communities reach goal of 100% renewable energy
- Establish a collaborative working group to implement a Village of Deerfield climate mitigation and resilience plan.
