Take a stroll with members of the Deerfield Park District and Go Green Deerfield through one of Deerfield’s woodland gems, and learn about our native spring ephemeral plants.

These spring beauties emerge and bloom before the trees leaf out, then fade away until next spring.

See plants like mayapple, trillium, spring beauties, Jack in the pulpit, hepatica, and more!

Leading the tour is Rob Sulski, who has many years of experience working with native plants and in woodland and prairie restoration.

Long pants and closed toe shoes are highly encouraged, as well as staying on the trail.  Another native plant that is emerging is poison ivy!  (*This walk is a great time to learn how to identify it)
