Noelle is new to native gardening and sustainable lawn design. She is carefully eliminating parts of the lawn and replacing it with pollinator friendly plantings.

She advises that “you don’t have to do everything at once and to take baby steps.”

Although she’s a newcomer to pollinator planting, she’s been composting for over 10 years. The compost provides a rich nutrient source for her tomatoes and garden.

Her yard includes:

  • Little bluestem
  • Butterfly weed
  • Swamp milkweed
  • Wild ginger
  • Spiderwort
  • Prairie smoke
  • Silky aster
  • Wild bergamot
  • Joe pye weed
  • Wild geranium
  • Bee balm
  • Coneflower
